Combined Medicine/Pediatrics Nephrology Track
Individuals seeking board certification in both Adult and Pediatric Nephrology can pursue combined fellowship training. Completion of both Adult and Pediatric residency training, either individually or as a combined Med/Peds residency, is a prerequisite for this pathway.
Structure/Duration
- The total duration of training is four years. This includes one clinical year of adult nephrology training and one clinical year of pediatric nephrology training, with either occurring first. These clinical years are followed by two years of nephrology research training in the basic sciences or the adult or pediatric clinical realms.
- With completion of this shortened track to dual certification, the program will sponsor the fellow’s application for board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics.
