Barb Bennett
Director, Pediatrics Communications and Marketing
With a distinguished career that includes an Emmy Award for her work in television production and extensive experience in marketing, Barb brings a wealth of expertise to our department. Previously, she excelled as a Communications Manager at the American Heart Association, leading pivotal communications and marketing campaigns. Her achievements include spearheading initiatives that enhanced public awareness about significant advancements in heart health, clinical guidelines, and health policy.
Most recently, Barb served as the Director of Communications and Community Engagement at Medical City Arlington, part of Medical City Healthcare. There, she was instrumental in producing engaging content across various platforms, including newsletters, social media, and video productions, highlighting key service lines and sharing compelling stories of physician and patient successes. Her efforts significantly strengthened community connections and enhanced the facility's media presence.
In her new role, Barb will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive communication and marketing strategies that highlight our department's leadership in clinical care, research, and education. She will enhance our communication channels, including newsletters, website integration, annual reports, and a dynamic social media presence. Furthermore, Barb will collaborate closely with our faculty and staff to promote our innovative clinical programs and research breakthroughs, as well as our success in training future pediatricians.
Barb's leadership will also encompass our broader pediatric initiatives, helping to synergize the UTSW and Children's Health brands and advance our position in national pediatric care discussions.
