Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship

The Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology provides an unsurpassed opportunity for clinical fellowship training. Children’s Health℠ Children’s Medical Center, the primary pediatric teaching hospital, is the principal site for clinical training of our fellows. Directly adjacent to the UT Southwestern Medical Center campus, this hospital is consistently ranked as one of the nation's finest children's hospitals by U.S. News and World Report. Importantly, its proximity to UT Southwestern allows clinical fellows to easily move between clinical and research training venues during their fellowship.

The Division prides itself on an atmosphere that welcomes new ideas, change, and creativity for fellowship education. The overall goals and objectives for pediatric hematology/oncology fellows are to gain extensive experience in the diagnosis and ongoing care of children with cancer and hematologic disorders, and to become researchers and teachers of pediatric hematology/oncology.

Message from the Director

“Training at University of Texas Southwestern for Pediatric Hematology-Oncology provides you with world class training in both patient care and research. Our fellows are exposed to a wide breadth of clinical diagnoses, allowing fellows to gain clinical skills needed for future careers in clinical hematology, oncology, stem cell transplant or immunotherapy. In addition, sitting on the campus of the University of Texas Southwestern, fellows are able to work in labs at the NCI designated Simmons Cancer Center, at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, or in the Biomedical Sciences labs at North Campus. Fellows also have the opportunity to pursue clinical research. I am extremely proud of our past graduates, and welcome the chance to provide you more information about our program."
