UT Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Molecular Biology, invites applications for an Instructor (research track, nontenured) faculty position. The position requires a Ph.D. in Biology or related fields and at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience in field. Primary responsibilities will include: performing experiments to elucidate the biochemical mechanism of inflammasome activation. The experimental approaches include establishing a cell-free system that recapitulates inflammasome activation in vivo, biochemical purification of factors that mediate inflammasome activation, performing cell biological experiments to investigate the process of inflammasome activation, using CRISPR and other genetic techniques to determine the role of inflammasomes in mouse models. Will also perform experiments to investigate the structural basis of innate immunity and inflammation. Candidates should apply online.
