Alumni
Medicine and health care at UT Southwestern have a rich history of learning and practice. Leading physicians in an array of specialties have worked in our wards as students, residents, fellows, interns, and faculty, and many have gone on to advance the practice of medicine and discovery of biomedical breakthroughs.
The Internal Medicine Alumni Association (IMAA) builds and maintains connections between generations of alumni who have trained at UT Southwestern. The organization is open to all who have successfully completed residency or fellowship training programs in Internal Medicine.
The IMAA is led by a board of directors and works to support current and future alumni as they use their expertise to influence the future of medicine, today.
Distinguished Alumni Award
Each year, we recognize an outstanding physician who has completed either residency and/or fellowship training in one of our 30 graduate medical education programs with the Distinguished Alumni Award. This award honors and highlights the outstanding accomplishments, service, and contributions this individual has provided to the field of medicine either internationally, nationally, or at the local level. The aim of the award is to illuminate how the medical training they received at UT Southwestern prepared them to advance the profession in order to care for future healthcare needs.
What We Do
Our Education Administration staff works closely with the IMAA board to promote continued excellence at each step of our member's careers. We connect with alumni at mixers and conferences across years and specialties.
We also provide news and resources for making connections and growing professional networks. We help you keep in touch with classmates, faculty, and friends through news about alumni professional accomplishments. You honor us by allowing us to honor you for your contributions to UT Southwestern and to health care.
