International Students
UT Southwestern Medical Center is a dynamic and diverse learning community that welcomes hundreds of students from around the world each year. If you are an international student, the following are some important tips to remember as you prepare your application.
Transcripts
Submit original transcripts from each college or university attended. Please keep copies of the transcripts.
Transcript Evaluations
An independent evaluation of your transcripts is required if you received your degree from a university outside of the United States. The evaluation should include subject breakdown, semester credit hours, and grade for each undergraduate course. For transcript evaluation, contact:

Language Proficiency Exams
International applicants whose native language is not English must submit Language Proficiency Exam scores. We accept the following test scores – TOEFL iBT, TOEFL Essentials, IELTS, and DuoLingo. Applicants whose education medium of instruction is English but in a non-English-speaking country must still submit Language Proficiency Exam scores.
While there are no minimum score requirements, competitive scores are typically equivalent to a TOEFL iBT score of 100 or above.
Our Institutional code is 6686. No departmental code is needed.
Visas and Immigration
