What We Do

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology provides exceptional care to women facing gynecologic cancers, including ovarian and endometrial cancer as well as cancers of the fallopian tube, cervix, vagina, vulva, primary peritoneal cancer and gestational trophoblastic disease.

Our team of specialized physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and staff are committed to supporting our patients through every step of their cancer journey, from diagnosis to treatment and beyond.

Our Work

Our faculty are nationally recognized physicians that practice at UT Southwestern’s Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, UT Southwestern community outreach centers, and Parkland Health and Hospital System.

As UT Southwestern’s Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of the most advanced cancer centers in the world, our division serves as both a leading community resource as well as a regional referral center.

Research

Research is vital to our division’s academic mission and includes basic as well as clinical studies.

Our faculty have NIH and extramural funding for research and collaborate with UT Southwestern’s Ida and Cecil Green Center for Reproductive Biology Sciences, and the Hamon Center for Experimental Therapeutics.

As a member institution of the national NRG Oncology organization, we also actively participate in National Cancer Institute-sponsored clinical protocols.

Educational Involvement

We are committed to capitalizing on our expertise to mentor and teach UT Southwestern’s medical students, residents, and fellows. Division faculty provide core lectures and clinical teaching to medical students and residents in obstetrics and gynecology.

We serve as teaching faculty for the department’s Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program, which offers excellent training and professional development.
