Radiation Oncology Translational Core
The translational core was developed as a resource to clinical investigators interested in enhancing their clinical research with translational correlates. Within the Department, we have a wide range of expertise with handling and processing human tissues for various molecular analyses.
Fundamental to an innovative clinical trial portfolio that will change the standard of radiation medicine the investigation of the biologic impact our treatments. To address this critical need the translational core provides different services to assist clinical investigators collect and process samples from prospective studies that include innovative therapeutic trials.
Key tissue samples the core can assist with include plasma, serum, PBMCs, tumor tissue, and stool.
Our services include:
- Collection and processing tissues
- Archiving tissue
- Extracting DNA and RNA for next generation sequencing
- Harvesting fresh tissue for tissue culture including tumor organoids
