Hematology and Oncology Research
Basic and clinical research are integral to the mission of the Division of Hematology and Oncology. Bringing the best of medical science to clinical practice is a major goal at UT Southwestern Medical Center, and the Division’s faculty undertake a broad range of both clinical and basic research.
Basic and Translational Research
The Division of Hematology and Oncology has an active and growing basic research program. Faculty members are appointed jointly in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and train graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and clinical fellows for careers in biomedical science.
Clinical Research
The Division of Hematology and Oncology’s clinical research program is closely coordinated with the Clinical Research Office of the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. Physicians and fellows in the Division of Hematology and Oncology actively recruit patients who meet certain eligibility criteria to a number of ongoing clinical trials. For a complete listing of open studies, please visit the Simmons Cancer Center's Clinical Research Office or the UT Southwestern Clinical Trials Office.
