Going Deep on Depression

UT Southwestern research, led by Madhukar Trivedi, M.D., identified brain imaging biomarkers that bring new levels of precision to prescribing the most effective antidepressants. One in every three depressed patients must try multiple antidepressants before finding one that works. Dr. Trivedi’s approach uses biomarkers and machine learning models to zero in on the regions and circuits of the brain associated with prediction of treatment response to each medication.
