Surgical Services at Frisco

UT Southwestern Frisco
The UT Southwestern Frisco medical office building and its associated Texas Health Hospital are now open.

UT Southwestern Frisco and its associated Texas Health Hospital opened late 2019, and have been serving patients in North Texas for just over six months. This partnership brings together two highly trusted names in healthcare in one of the fastest growing cities in the country. From July 2017 to July 2018, Frisco saw a 6.1% surge in its population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, making this an ideal location for these new medical facilities.

The 120,000-square-foot outpatient building and 325,000-square-foot hospital create a streamlined patient experience and brings expert care closer to the northern patient demographic. The partnership also allows for patient medical records to be easily shared between the two facilities.

The four-story UT Southwestern Frisco outpatient building offers laboratory and imaging services, a concierge and retail pharmacy, executive functioning assessment, audio booths, restorative therapy services (physical and occupational therapy and orthotics), as well as on-site continuing medical education and grand rounds. Specialties offered at these locations include dermatology, neurology, gynecology, pediatrics, and urology. The Department of Surgery offers endocrine, bariatric, general, colon and rectal, and vascular surgery.

The Texas Health Frisco hospital boasts a 24/7 emergency room, surgical services, women’s services, and a neonatal intensive care unit. The eight-story, acute-care hospital has a 132-bed capacity, with 73 operational beds.

Ana Islam, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Endocrine Surgery performed the very first surgical procedure at this new location. Dr. Islam completed her fellowship training at UT Southwestern and joined as a member of faculty in 2019.
