Brain Injury Medicine

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center offers a one-year accredited fellowship in brain injury medicine (BIM) with emphasis on post-acute brain injury management. Acute care services are based at Parkland Health & Hospital System, a Level I trauma facility, which was the first Level I trauma center in Texas. Research opportunities are available through the North Texas Traumatic Brain Injury Model System (NTTBIMS) and the clinical trials network.

Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Children’s Health℠ offers one and two-year ACGME-accredited fellowships in pediatric rehabilitation medicine. Fellows will gain exposure to a wide range of pediatric rehabilitation medicine including TBI, multiple trauma, SCI including acute ICU care, acute inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and medical management. There are also opportunities in clinical and basic research.

Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Fellowship

UT Southwestern Medical Center's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation offers a one-year fellowship opportunity for Board Eligible/Board Certified physicians interested in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine (ISMM). Fellows will receive in-depth multidisciplinary training in various aspects of spine and musculoskeletal medicine. Fellows will work closely with members of an interdisciplinary spine program including fellowship-trained PM&R physicians in pain medicine and sports medicine, anesthesiology pain management physicians, orthopedic spine surgeons, neurosurgeons, radiologists, physical therapists, and psychologists. The clinical setting is a multidisciplinary facility with on-site clinics, imaging (ultrasound, x-ray, CT and MRI), electrodiagnostic lab, therapy gym, and outpatient surgery center.
