I have interests in quality improvement, delivery innovation, and healthcare utilization. I want our residents to be engage in these areas as well. I also have an interest in cost-effectiveness research utilizing decision tree and Markov modeling.

As a clinician, I have an active interest in the neurological benefits of the supplement alphalipoic acid (also known as Lipoic Acid LA) which is useful in neuropathic pain (Peter Dyck, Mayo Clinic), trigeminal neuralgia, slowing of brain atrophy, diabetic control, and multiple sclerosis. I also have an active interest in using exercises as one of the approaches to treat multiple clinical conditions including headaches, dizziness, back pain, sciatica, carpal tunnel, frozen shoulder, Stroke, and Parkinson’s Disease.


Shamin Masrour, D.O.

Dr. Masrour’s research interests involve exploring novel therapeutics for treatment of cranial neuralgias, particularly trigeminal neuralgia, and migraine.
