William C. McGaghie, Ph.D.

William C. McGaghie, Ph.D., is Professor of Medical Education and Preventive Medicine at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Northwestern Simulation in Chicago. Previously, he held faculty positions at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill, and the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.

Dr. McGaghie has been engaged in medical and health professions education research and scholarship for more than 45 years. He has authored or edited 10 books and hundreds of journal articles and textbook chapters, and he is a frequent consultant and speaker at medical schools in the U.S. and around the world. In March 2019, Dr. McGaghie received the John P. Hubbard Award from the National Board of Medical Examiners for excellence in the field of evaluation in medicine.
