What we do

The neuromuscular center at the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine (IEEM) provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of metabolic myopathies and inflammatory myopathies. Its biochemistry laboratory offers innovative functional exercise testing, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and detailed biochemical analysis to evaluate the metabolic machinery of working muscle. Dr. Bhai and his team use various methods in integrative and vascular physiology methods in addition to infusions with isotope-labeled glucose and lactate. Dr. Bhai collaborates with basic science researchers conducting similar studies and working with his international counterparts to validate protocols and more.
