Multidisciplinary Developmental Cognitive Clinic (DCC) at Parkland Health

The DCC clinic was created to improve the care of patients transitioning from pediatric care into the adult healthcare system.

What we do
Shaida Khan, D.O., established the Multidisciplinary Developmental and Cognitive Clinic (DCC) at Parkland Health, Dallas County’s safety net hospital. She and her team provide coordinated care for muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, and other rare disorders requiring complex level and multidisciplinary care in a single setting transitioning from pediatric care. Having this dedicated team of specialty providers in one physical location in an environment that is conducive to their needs has been beneficial for this patient population. We see more than 500 patients annually.

Our multidisciplinary team includes a neurologist, PM&R physician, cardiologist, pulmonologist, pharmacist, and social worker.
