Annette G. Strauss Center for Neuro-Oncology

The Annette G. Strauss Center for Neuro-Oncology is the cornerstone of UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Neuro-Oncology Program. By integrating laboratory investigators and surgeons in clinical settings and operating rooms, we can speed up the testing process and personalize therapy regimens for patients.

Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to the care of CNS tumor patients including Neurosurgery, Radiation Oncology, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, through direct subspecialty provider communication. Our team comprises medical neuro-oncologists, neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, neuropathologists, pharmacists, dedicated nursing, and support staff.

What we do

We provide complete care for brain tumor patients by collaborating with a patient care team to make real-time decisions for patient care and allow for better access to clinical trials. Over the last 12 months, our neuro-oncology clinic has overseen 3670 patient visits, and 350 new patients, and our neurosurgery colleagues operated on approximately 700 patients.

Collaborations

We partner with pediatric neuro-oncologists at Children’s Health in Dallas to manage pediatric CNS tumors diagnosed in adult patients. Additionally, we engage with other service lines within the Simmons Cancer Center, such as Palliative Care, Apheresis, the infusion center, and other medical oncology subspecialties to provide expedited patient-centric care.
