Neurohospitalist Service
Though headache is one of the most common neurologic diseases, access to headache care is scarce, especially in underserved communities.
The Neurohospitalist service is the inpatient arm of the General Neurology Section, with services at both Clements University Hospital and Parkland Health.
What we do:
The focus is on patients with inpatient neurological issues beyond those already falling into more pre-defined service lines (e.g. Neurovascular/stroke service, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, or the Neurocritical Care Unit). We manage an array of conditions, and the service is the cornerstone of teaching for trainees going through the UTSW Department of Neurology.
Beyond clinical care and teaching, the Neurohospitalist service also focuses on quality improvement, healthcare utilization, and healthcare delivery innovation.
