Sharon Moore

Senior Administrative Assistant II
Division of Pediatric Rheumatology, Department of Pediatrics

First UTSW job: Administrative Assistant in the Chair’s office, Department of Pediatrics.

Best part about my job: Our team. I get to work with some super awesome faculty, a phenomenal Division Chief, and fantabulous admins. You can ask me to do just about anything as long as our team works together!

How co-workers describe me: The quiet one who prefers to work in the background without drawing much attention but is always willing to help others.

Funniest UTSW memory: When our Department introduced Pete and Patty, the Pediatric Flamingos, for the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) in 2017 and 2018. Donors could designate a colleague’s work area to get “flocked” with little flamingos, and perhaps even their parents Pete and Patty. Those who weren’t flamingo fans could donate for “anti-flocking insurance.” The reactions were hilarious – and Pete, Patty, and their flock raised a lot of money for SECC those two years.

Hobbies: Paper crafts, thrift store shopping, and nature walks.

Surprising fact: I’ve never been on a motorcycle in my life, but I’ve always wanted a custom bike from Orange County Choppers – the kind with really long chrome handlebars and an engine so loud it makes folks jump as you ride by.
