Gary Goble

Clinical Specialist Analyst II
Health System Information Resources

First UTSW job: Weekend Imaging Manager at the former St. Paul University Hospital and Chief Tech at Radiology in the James W. Aston Ambulatory Care Center. I am one of the very few staff members who held two full-time positions concurrently for many years at UTSW.

Best part about my job: UT Southwestern is in a constant state of change. Constantly upgrading and adopting new workflows and equipment while providing top-tier patient care.

How co-workers describe me: Focused and ready to help. If he doesn’t know something, he will find out.

Best UTSW memory: Working with Judy Gump, Ph.D., Denise Young, and Cecelia Brewington, M.D., transitioning Aston Radiology from film-based imaging to completely digital as the first UTSW clinical area to completely embrace the new picture-archiving communication system imaging environment.

I wish I were an instant expert at: Completely coordinating all of the clinical workflows with the capabilities and limitations of the many applications our team supports.

Hobbies: Working on cars, long distance motorcycle riding, and using my chain saw to clear brush and trees.

Surprising fact: I have 10 grandchildren; the oldest is at Texas A&M University and the youngest is looking forward to preschool.

Final note: I really enjoy the challenges of my workplace and eagerly anticipate being a part of the future of UT Southwestern Medical Center!
