Brandon Blasingame

Senior Manager
IR Telecom Network Infrastructure

First UTSW job: Technical Specialist in Client Services.

Best part about my job: I love the diversity of projects and technology at UT Southwestern. We get to touch so much more technology than other people in our field. I think I would get bored at a normal company.

How co-workers describe me: Straightforward. I like to tackle problems head-on.

Most unusual UTSW memory: I ended up working with Coca-Cola corporate over a two-week period to troubleshoot why the Freestyle Coke machine at the former St. Paul University Hospital could not download new flavors from the internet. It was surreal that flavors depended on an internet connection. Thankfully, we were able to deliver all the soda flavors when we moved to William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital.

Surprising fact: I started out my career in journalism, working at the Dallas Times Herald and Fort Worth Star-Telegram before moving into the technology field.

Final note: I started here as a contractor in 1995, so seeing the campus grow over almost three decades has been an amazing experience and a joy to take part in. It was a time when we had two campuses and just a few clinics.
