From her nominator: “When Gabrielle is in charge, I know that the unit will run smoothly. She is influential in collaborating with her peers to help improve the unit. She upholds her professional career to the highest standards while remaining faithful to the community. Through a nonprofit called Feed My Starving Children, she saw that even spending as little as 1½ hours packing food can help feed dozens of children around the world. She got her unit involved as a team-bonding activity. Her kindness and welcoming spirit allow her to effectively impact those around her, encouraging others to do the same.”

From her nominator: “Sheena has been commonly known as ‘Super Nurse’ on our unit, and many times we all wonder how she is capable of handling so much at one time. The answer is very clear: She is fulfilling a calling in her heart to truly care for others. She is aware of her surroundings and constantly looks out for her colleagues. She will assist anyone, anytime, with anything. Her energy is enough to walk across the great state of Texas, and luckily for us, she uses this strength to deliver the best care to all our patients.”

From her nominator: “Kaitlyn is a natural leader on the unit and is an incredible mentor to her fellow peers during each of her shifts. One of the many things Kate excels in is patient advocacy. In the community, she has been an advocate for those struggling with endometriosis and is a member of the North Texas Endometriosis Support Group. She works to create a network of support for women and educate them on available resources. She is frequently recognized directly by patients and patients’ family members for her service excellence.”

From her nominator: “Rhonda receives endless praise from patients and doctors, commending her attention to detail and ability to work magic during best practice meetings. She keeps an active list of patients’ future needs and advocates for them with all team members. Many call her a miracle worker because she can turn any situation around with her positive attitude. She has helped to create a culture that is focused on proactive problem-solving and has reinvented the modern inpatient care coordinator role, which optimizes the way patients receive health care.”
