First UTSW job: I started working as a File Clerk in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery.

Best part of my job: It has never been boring, and the work is challenging. I learn something new every day. I also have great co-workers, and have worked with some of the best physicians.

How co-workers describe me: Outgoing, friendly, approachable, and loves to laugh.

Surprising fact: I love playing soccer. I started playing at age 7 and stopped when I was 38. I’m actually pretty good at it.

Unusual memory: One day in the office, a male physician and I had a long conversation about my hair. He would stop by the office to see what color and style it would be from one week to the next. It got to the point where he would say, “Um, Dede, I’m not too crazy about that hairstyle.”
