Stefanie Voelker: 25 years
Registered Nurse
William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, 5 South, Labor and Delivery
First UTSW job: I had a student nurse externship in Labor and Delivery, then worked as a Scrub Tech during nursing school.
Best part of my job: I love getting to know the families and making their delivery experience special. I still love my job after 25 years. Every day is a new experience and a challenge.
How co-workers describe me: Positive and a team player.
Surprising fact: My parents remarried in the Clements University Hospital Chapel on Valentine’s Day this year after being divorced for 40 years.
Unusual memory: I was the delivery nurse for the Jones quintuplets born in 2012, which was an amazing experience. I also was the delivery nurse for the first baby born at the new Clements University Hospital. The patient and I were being transported by ambulance and the baby arrived shortly thereafter.
