Honoring achievement: The 2019 Medical School Student Awards
Congratulations to the 211 members of the UT Southwestern Medical School Class of 2019, who will receive their degrees at Commencement exercise Tuesday, May 7, at the Morton H. Myerson Symphony Center.
This year’s class includes 26 students graduating with distinction, an Olympic level athlete, a former F-16 pilot for the Air Force, an advocate for foster children, one who danced with a team on America’s Got Talent, and one who launched a group to reach out to disadvantaged elementary school students to motivate them to pursue careers in medicine.
Special honors went to several of the medical students in recognition of exemplary academic, clinical, or research efforts. These stories provide a snapshot of these graduates, and the people and events that helped shaped their careers in medicine.
