Tracy McGaw: 30 years
Manager
Clinical Education and Professional Practice
First UTSW job: Working as a Staff Nurse/Charge Nurse/Preceptor in Neurosurgery ICU at Zale Lipshy University Hospital.
Best part of my job: The team that I work with is phenomenal. They work hard, strive for excellence, and support each other.
How co-workers describe me: Friendly, encouraging, hardworking, and dedicated.
Surprising fact: I play the piano and the saxophone. I’m also a contributing author to a critical-care reference book.
Best memory: While at Zale Lipshy, I was in a clinical educator role. I was impressed and moved by the dedication of the nurses, nurse residents, patient care technicians, and health unit coordinators whom I supported. I was fortunate to participate in the frequent patient satisfaction awards ceremonies that the team received – validations of their call to excellence.
