Kelli Hulsman: 30 years
Registered Nurse II, Lactation Consultant
Women’s Resource Center
First UTSW job: It involved taking care of patients who were on dialysis and had respiratory issues and diabetes at what was then St. Paul Hospital.
Best part of my job: I love helping families succeed in their breastfeeding goals and giving their babies the best possible start in life.
How co-workers describe me: Honest, dependable, and a good teacher. In addition to instructing patients on breastfeeding, I have taught guest lectures at a couple of North Texas universities and have led classes for the nursing staff.
Surprising fact: I grew up on a farm and wanted to be a veterinarian. I still have cows, goats, and chickens. The chickens don’t have names, but the other animals do.
Best memory: Most memorable was being awarded D Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing award this year.
