First UTSW job: I started as an Administrative Assistant I in the Accounting Department in 1993.

Best part of my job: I have been in the Department of Immunology for 20-plus years as assistant to the Department Chair. I have several duties that have allowed me to meet and work with some wonderful faculty, students, and staff from all around the world. I love that UT Southwestern is such a melting pot! My Department believes in employee engagement and our activities have brought us even closer together.

How co-workers describe me: Patient and resourceful – I try to find a solution to every problem, big or small, which takes time and patience.

Surprising fact: I’m an avid sports fan and enjoy traveling to top sporting events around the country.

Funny memory: When I applied, Human Resources was located on the main floor of the B Building. I thought it was a really slow day at the University because I was able to find such great parking. I realized later that I had parked on what is now the Dr. Donald Seldin Plaza, not noticing that visitor parking was across the street.

Final note: I served on the Employee Advisory Committee for three years and chaired the events subcommittee for two years. I have also received the Gold PACT Service Award.
