Priscilla Alderman: 30 years
Executive Assistant
Office of the President
First UTSW job: Administrative Assistant in the President’s Office in 1988.
Best memory: UTSW’s ducks that visit us each spring and leave by late August. The first year we had three ducklings, the second year seven ducklings, and the third year we hit the jackpot with 13 baby ducklings. It is an exciting day when they hatch and a sad day when they fly away to begin their new lives. It is amazing how such small creatures can develop new friendships and bring us together as one organization.
Best part of my job: The people. The feeling of friendship and respect with my co-workers, departments throughout our campus, Nobel Laureates, and our President, Dr. Daniel K. Podolsky. I feel blessed that in a very minute way I am contributing to the mission and goals of our institution.
How co-workers describe me: Dependable, reliable, friendly, helpful, respectful of others, and loyal to UTSW, the President’s Office, and its leadership. I’m also known as the “Pound Cake Lady.” Whatever the occasion, I bring a pound cake to work to share with everyone.
Surprising fact: I co-founded a prayer shawl group at our church many years ago. I enjoy knitting and crocheting prayer shawls and baby blankets.
