Kelly Gonzalez named NLM/AAHSL Leadership Fellows Program mentor
Kelly Gonzalez, Assistant Vice President for Library Services, was selected as a mentor for the 2019-2020 National Library of Medicine (NLM) and Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries (AAHSL) Leadership Fellows Program.
“This program is very competitive and it is an honor to be chosen as an AAHSL/NLM Leadership Mentor 10 years after I was a leadership fellow,” Ms. Gonzalez said. “I’m one of the success stories: from leadership fellow to library director.”
The program prepares emerging leaders for director positions in academic health sciences libraries through a yearlong mentorship between a director and a fellow. Ms. Gonzalez and nine other fellows and mentors from across the U.S. will begin their work together in November.
Since the program began in 2002, 54 percent of all fellow graduates have assumed director positions.
