Cullum elected President of Sports Neurological Society

Dr. Munro Cullum, Professor of Psychiatry, Neurological Surgery, and Neurology and Neurotherapeutics, has been elected President of the Sports Neuropsychology Society (SNS), a national organization of neuropsychologists focusing on brain and behavior research and clinical applications in sports.

One of the founding members of the Society in 2012, Dr. Cullum was selected as a fellow of the group in 2018. He is Principal Investigator of the Concussion Network of North Texas (ConTex) registry studies at UT Southwestern and has been the team neuropsychologist for the Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Stars for more than 20 years.

At the national level, Dr. Cullum is Past President of the National Academy of Neuropsychology and the Society for Clinical Neuropsychology, and a Fellow of the American Psychological Association. His lab focuses on neuropsychological assessment and outcomes following concussion, in addition to early neurobehavioral detection and evaluation of Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive disorders of aging. 

A Texas native, Dr. Cullum has been with UT Southwestern for 24 years and also serves as the Chief of the Division of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry. He holds the Pam Blumenthal Distinguished Professorship in Clinical Psychology.
