The seventh annual Leaders in Clinical Excellence Awards ceremony provided the perfect opportunity for the campus community to gather for an afternoon of honors and an evening of celebration, including great food, music, and comradery. Click through the photos below for a flavor of the event.

The Patricia and William L. Watson Jr., M.D. Award for Excellence in Clinical Medicine recognizes a UTSW clinician who exemplifies excellence in patient care and is a leader in advancing clinical innovation.
Dr. Podolsky with Miguel Vazquez, M.D., the 2024 Watson Award honoree.
On accepting the award, Dr. Vazquez speaks about the privilege and rewards of his long career at UT Southwestern, where so many patients with kidney disease have entrusted him with their care. “We walk together some of the journey and we learn from their resilience, their grace, what it really means to be in medicine,” he said.
