UT Southwestern drew more than 2,600 registered walkers from among 179 teams, raising over $41,000 for the American Heart Association.

Celebrating 15 years of participation, the UT Southwestern community united on Sept. 21 to join in the American Heart Association’s 2024 Dallas Heart Walk. More than 2,600 people and nearly 180 teams registered to represent UTSW. Walkers gathered at the base of Reunion Tower that morning, ready to get in their steps. By the end of the day, UT Southwestern had raised more than $41,000 for AHA causes. Donations went toward better care for heart disease and stroke patients, research funding at institutions like UTSW, and wellness initiatives. Attendees walked either a 1- or 3-mile route through downtown Dallas.
