Housestaff Alumnus Dr. Christie Mitchell Ballantyne
Housestaff Alumnus Dr. Christie Mitchell Ballantyne, M.D., has been appointed by Matinas BioPharma Holdings Inc. to a new Scientific Advisory Board created to guide the development of a proprietary, prescription-only omega-3 fatty acid. A leading cardiovascular specialist, lipidology expert, and atherosclerotic vascular disease researcher, Dr. Ballantyne is a Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and Chief of the Sections of Cardiovascular Research and Cardiology. He is also Director of The Maria and Alando J. Ballantyne, M.D., Atherosclerosis Clinical Research Laboratory at Baylor and the Center for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention at the Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center. At Houston Methodist Hospital, Dr. Ballantyne serves as Co-Director of the Lipid Metabolism and Atherosclerosis Clinic.
