Student Wellness & Counseling Appointments
To schedule a student wellness and counseling appointment, call 214-645-8680. Please have your insurance information available when calling. Full access to Student Wellness and Counseling Services is available for current students in the Medical School, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Professions, and School of Public Health as well as students on leave of absence.
The first visit is of no charge. Students have one free visit every academic year.

8 a.m.–noon and 1–5 p.m.
After-Hours Care
After-hours calls are answered by ProtoCall, a professionally staffed crisis counseling line staffed by counselors trained to deal with mental health crises. ProtoCall counselors have all the information about UT Southwestern’s Wellness and Counseling and other local mental health resources.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
All office visits in Student Wellness and Counseling are confidential and protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Only Student Wellness and Counseling Services providers and staff have access to office visit notes. No other access is granted without the patient’s written permission.
