Our role as advocates and ambassadors for UT Southwestern University Hospital is essential. Yet it is to the greater Dallas philanthropic community – past, present and future – to whom we are responsible. It is to their light we hold our decisions, for they built St. Paul. They have been her patients, donors, medical staff, board members, employees, vendors and volunteers.

Emeritus Director and Former Chairman
With roots going back to 1967, St. Paul Medical Foundation is dedicated to advancing, through philanthropy, excellent and innovative patient care at UT Southwestern University Hospital, honoring the religious heritage of the hospital and promoting the role of faith and religion in medicine.
In January 2005, the Foundation merged with the St. Paul Fund for Advanced Heart and Lung Disease, a sister nonprofit with which it had worked closely to support the nationally-acclaimed heart and lung program at the St. Paul facility. The combined organization now continues to promote world-class heart and lung care, and advance research and education by raising funds for the Heart, Lung and Vascular Programs at UT Southwestern University Hospital.
In order to provide broad based support for heart and lung medicine, a new group formed in 2005 called Friends of the Heart, Lung and Vascular Programs at UT Southwestern. Membership benefits include the opportunity to attend outstanding presentations by leading experts on the latest advances in heart, lung and vascular research, as well as disease treatment and prevention.
Also providing funds for our Heart and Lung Programs are special events sponsored by the foundation, as well as by generous individuals in the community who appreciate the valuable resource these programs provide to the people of North Texas and beyond. An event being held by just such a friend of UT Southwestern is the Tribute to Legends golf tournament scheduled for Monday, October 26, 2009 at the beautiful Tribute Golf Club on Lake Lewisville.
In addition to raising funds for heart and lung medicine, golf tournaments and other special events also provide the opportunity to share information about the programs' physicians and services. One of the most effective ways of spreading the word has been the airing of a short video specially produced for the occasion. Please click on Legends Heart and Lung Programs video, to view the one shown at St. Paul's 2008 Legends gala.
