UT Southwestern Medical Center, one of the nation’s most prominent medical and research facilities and a top Dallas eye care center, offers comprehensive eye care to diagnose and treat numerous eye conditions. The ophthalmic surgeons in our Comprehensive Eye Care Program treat thousands of patients each year. They work together with UT Southwestern’s researchers to leverage the most effective medical technologies.

UT Southwestern’s Comprehensive Eye Care Program provides basic diagnostic, medical and surgical services that include:

• Screening for common eye diseases, as well as treatment for glaucoma, cataracts and diabetic retinopathy
• Surgically implanted lenses to restore vision after cataract surgery
• Diagnosis and treatment of other conditions such as dry eye syndrome and macular degeneration
• General evaluation for patients with undiagnosed eye problems

Comprehensive ophthalmologists medically and surgically treat a wide variety of eye disease with their broad scope of knowledge and experience. Many patients have multiple eye problems, which our physicians can treat for total eye health. In the event patients need further assistance, comprehensive ophthalmologists have immediate access to an array of ophthalmic subspecialists, or, if warranted, they can provide a timely referral to a neurologist or internist.
