Adult PsychiatryThe Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center has offered mental health services for adults since 1943. Our psychiatrists, psychologists and other clinicians provide comprehensive assessments and the latest treatments for mental illness. UT Southwestern mental health professionals provide services on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
Outpatient services are offered for people who experience problems with work, relationships or who have symptoms such as depression or anxiety. Treatment is accomplished through medication, therapy (individual, group or family), psychoanalysis or marriage and family counseling. The Family Studies Center (FSC) is a nonprofit counseling center. It provides affordable family/systems therapy on a sliding fee scale to individuals, couples and families living in the Dallas area.
