For Physician Referrals

UT Southwestern Medical Center physicians are clinical leaders in their specialties and treat a variety of patients, many with the most complex of diseases. Patients from all areas of the nation, but particularly North Texas, utilize the specialty services at UT Southwestern. Our physicians offer consultations and treatment for more than 60 areas of medical specialization.

Access for referring physicians and their patients is a top priority at UT Southwestern. Appointments and consultations are scheduled in a timely manner, and patient transfers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Recognizing that navigating through the many programs and resources at UT Southwestern can be challenging, we offer a Physician Outreach Program to assist external physicians with any questions they may have.

Referring physicians may use our Find a Physician tool to locate UT Southwestern specialists. We offer brief biographical information for our doctors as well as their clinical and research areas of interest and contact information.

UT Southwestern staff will assist with the secure and timely transfer of medical records and test results to our offices, and will provide quality care for patients in a manner consistent with the physician’s practice. The physicians at UT Southwestern will work collaboratively with the referring physician, and ensure a smooth transition back to their practices when appropriate.
